About Ctrl-F

52% of young women avoid checking their bank balance. Not because they're bad with money—because they're anxious about what they'll see.

Ctrl-F is the first finance app designed to solve that emotional barrier. Instead of showing scary red numbers without context, we explain what happened before showing what it cost. "Your spending was higher this weekend—you had your birthday Saturday. You're on track. You're doing fine."

We have a working MVP with real banking integration. We've validated demand with 110+ user interviews. 69% of surveyed users said "this is exactly what I need."

Now we need a technical co-founder to scale it.

What We're Building

A mobile app (iOS/Android) that:

  • Integrates with UK banks via Open Banking APIs
  • Uses AI to provide context-aware financial insights
  • Prioritizes UX that reduces anxiety rather than maximizes data
  • Helps 3M+ young women in the UK feel in control of their finances

What You'll Own

  • Full product and technical architecture
  • Mobile app development (React Native, Flutter, or native)
  • Banking API integrations (Plaid, TrueLayer, or similar)
  • AI/ML implementation for personalized insights
  • Security and compliance (FCA regulations, data protection)
  • Technical hiring as we scale

What You Bring

Must have:

  • Experience shipping consumer mobile apps (iOS/Android)
  • Understanding of banking APIs and financial data integration
  • Strong product intuition—you care about why users don't open the app, not just what features to add
  • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration
  • Belief that good fintech solves emotional problems, not just functional ones

Nice to have:

  • Previous fintech or regulated industry experience
  • Experience with AI/ML for personalization
  • Background in consumer apps with high engagement/retention
  • Understanding of UK banking regulations (Open Banking, FCA)
